Remote Loan Signings Are Legal in Texas
Under Texas Government Code Chapter 406, remote online notarizations carry the same legal weight as traditional in-person notarizations. RONs are fully recognized for real estate transactions and most loan documents, including Deeds of Trust and Promissory Notes, can be signed remotely in Texas; however, it is important to confirm with your lender or title company whether they accept "e-Closings" or "RON", as some specific loan types still require physical 'wet ink' signatures on paper.
